N\u00e9 dans le Cantal, il suit \u00e0 Paris ses \u00e9tudes de m\u00e9decine. Engag\u00e9 volontaire en 1914 comme infirmier, il termine la guerre comme m\u00e9decin aide-major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brillant chirurgien, il exerce dans diff\u00e9rents h\u00f4pitaux parisiens : Tenon, Saint-Louis, Bichat, H\u00f4tel-Dieu, Salp\u00eatri\u00e8re\u2026 Secr\u00e9taire national de l&rsquo;Acad\u00e9mie nationale de chirurgie, son nom est donn\u00e9 en 1969 au vaste CHU de Cr\u00e9teil ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 une place pr\u00e8s de l\u2019Od\u00e9on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hommes de lettres, il publie de nombreux ouvrages sur des sujets m\u00e9dicaux comme sur le po\u00e8te St\u00e9phane Mallarm\u00e9. Ses multiples talents lui valent d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e0 la fois membre de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie des Sciences et de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie Fran\u00e7aise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En savoir plus : <a
