Tr\u00e8s cultiv\u00e9e, brillante oratrice, anticl\u00e9ricale, elle milite pour l\u2019\u00e9ducation des filles, les droits de l\u2019enfant et le suffrage universel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En 1869, elle contribue \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation avec Louise Michel de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 pour la revendication des droits civils des femmes. Premi\u00e8re femme initi\u00e9e \u00e0 la franc-ma\u00e7onnerie en France, elle est \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine de la cr\u00e9ation de l&rsquo;Ordre ma\u00e7onnique mixte international \u00ab\u00a0Le Droit humain\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Une rue le long du square des Epinettes prend son nom en 1895 avant qu\u2019une statue en sa m\u00e9moire ne soit inaugur\u00e9e dans le square en 1898. D\u00e9truite en 1943 sous l\u2019Occupation, elle fut refondue et re-\u00e9rig\u00e9e sur place en 1983.
